  Source: King Khalid University - Media Center The Center for Talent, Creativity and Entrepreneurship sponsored a camp for prospective and budding entrepreneurs. Co-sponsoring the event was the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (Monsha'at). Vice Rector of Business and Knowledge Economy, Dr. Abdulatif Al-Hudaithi, represented the university at the camp, which was held at the main campus in Abha. The purpose of the camp was to support and encourage entrepreneurship in the Asir region. In his opening remarks, Vice Rector Al-Hudaithi thanked the Center for all of its hard work and expressed his appreciation to the governmental authorities for its support and participation. He stated that entrepreneurship is an important element of economic development plans as set forth in Vision 2030. Saudi universities have a critical and unique role in helping to create and support entrepreneurs as they transition from students to business owners. The Vice Rector noted that starting and running a small business is difficult. The university will assist entrepreneurs by encouraging creativity, embracing resiliency and providing technical support. At the conclusion of the event, the Vice Rector presented 10 participants with awards for outstanding contributions in entrepreneurship.
Source: King Khalid University - Media Center The Deanship of Graduate Studies at King Khalid University announced the dates for the first phase of admissions to graduate programs. There are more than 50 graduate and doctoral programs with more than 1,000 students spanning the 9 colleges as follows: College of Sharia and Fundamentals of Religion, College of Education, College of Humanities, College of Science, College of Business, College of Languages and Translation, College of Engineering, College of Computer Science and College of Applied Medical Sciences in Abha. Dean of Graduate Studies, Dr. Ahmed bin Yahya Al-Faye, explained that graduate admissions will be processed through the Academia web portal starting from 3/5/1441, until 20/5/1441. Applicants must comply with university application procedures and the rules for the individual departments. Dean Al-Faye encourages all potential applicants to read the admission terms carefully. The second admissions phase will be announced in Sha'ban.
Source: King Khalid University-Media Center King Khalid University represented by the Mathematics department in the Faculty of Science organized the second international mathematics and implications conference. A selection of specialists from all over the world participated in that Conference. The conference would be held on the twenty second and twenty third of Jummada II 1441_ seventeenth and eighteenth of February 2020.  The Dean of the Scientific Faculty Prof. Ali Al-shati expressed that this conference comes as an extinction to the first mathematics and implications international conference which was held last year. That conference shed light on the latest research in the field of mathematics. It also aims to encourage researchers and mathematic specialists faculty members to promote scientific research through meetings and exchanging ideas with other researchers. They would also benefit from the experience of prominent international scientists in identifying the priorities needed in conducting a scientific research. The president of the Scientific Committee of the Conference Dr. Ali Al-kaldi pointed that the Committee received a lot of participations that were judge and around 80 were accepted. The accepted ones vary from lectures and scientific posters. A workshop will be conducted for statistic specialists in collaboration with the Saudi Association Statistical Sciences. 
Source: King Khalid University - Media Center King Khalid University's Media Center organized a training workshop for the International Scholarship Students entitled 'Basics to Preparing News Content in Multimedia'. The workshop was delivered by Media and Communication Department Lecturer Laasan Campus, Mr. Mohammad Shami. The workshop, which was attended by 65 students, included various topics about the news and its importance. Based on his field experience, Mr. Shami explained how newspapers deal with various events around the world in general and in the Islamic and Arab worlds in particular, highlighting the need to train on how to prepare press material. At the end of the workshop, Media Center General Supervisor, Dr. Mufleh Al-Qahtani, honored Mr. Shami and praised the content of the workshop. He also thanked the General Scholarship Student Administration for their cooperation. The workshop is part of a series of training workshops organized by the King Khalid University Media Center for those who are interested in journalism and media.
  Source: King Khalid University - Media Center His Excellency, King Khalid University Rector Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, chaired the fourth meeting of the University Council, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the University Affairs Council, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Saleh, the University Vice Rectors and the College Deans. The Vice Rector of Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research and the Secretary of the University Council, Prof. Saad Al-Amry, explained that the recommendations to establish a Department of Modern Languages and a Mining Engineering Department were approved. They also announced that the university would begin publishing journals on administrative and financial services management. The Council has approved a number of recommendations including: Execution of an academic contract between the university and the American educational company ELS Educational Services, Inc.; An agreement between the university and the Southern Federal University of Russia; Promotion of university employees; Upgrades to the Guidance Counseling Unit and Guidance Counseling Center; Upgrades to the Special Needs Unit and the Special Needs Center; Adoption of postgraduate programs in rehabilitation.
Source: King Khalid University - Media Center His Excellency, King Khalid University Rector Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, supported the event held by the Faculty of Medicine on Tuesday morning. The Creativity and Medical Club started a campaign to acknowledge the importance of stem cell donation in association with the Saudi Stem Cells Donor Registry (SSCDR). His Excellency Rector Al-Solamy was also introduced to the objectives event and was provided with a brief description of the importance of stem cell donation awareness. SSCDR's procedures were highlighted by explaining that if a possible stem cell donor is found in the database to be a good match for a recipient, steps are taken to teach the donor about the transplant process and make sure he or she is making an informed decision. It was further highlighted that people who might benefit from stem cell therapies include those with spinal cord injuries, type 1 diabetes, Parkinson's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, heart disease, stroke, burns, cancer and osteoarthritis. Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Sulaiman Al-Humaid, also confirmed the importance of Stem Cell Donations and the necessity of societal awareness. He noted that such awareness is accomplished by intensifying campaigns in this field. Of noteworthy mention, this campaign comes as an extension of the previous event held in summer 2019 that lasted for 3 days in different locations around the region.
Source: King Khalid University - Media Center The Deanship of Human Resources will be holding a series of workshops aimed at internal faculty development. These workshops will focus on developing teacher cognitive skills and practical training/evaluation in various aspects of education. The current plan is for 240 teachers to attend 8 different workshops. Vice Dean of Human Resource Development, Dr. Nasser Al-Qumaishan, is spearheading the effort. He pointed out that this initial series of workshops is intended as a model and proof of concept to be expanded and utilized in the university system on an ongoing basis in the future.
  Source: King Khalid University - Media Center The Department of Media and Communication at King Khalid University held a symposium on Wednesday at the Abha Literary Club entitled 'Improving the Assets of Dealing with Tourists and its Impact on Tourism in Abha'. This was part of the 'Terhab' campaign organized and supervised by the Department of Media and Communication. The symposium was attended by the Head of Department of Media and Communication, Prof. Ali bin Shwail Al Qarni, the Head of Department of Arabic Language, and a number of university employees and Abha Literary Club members. The symposium first started out with a plenum by Prof. Awad Ibrahim on International Tourism. Dr. Abdullah Asiri, a faculty member at the Department of Media and Communication, also addressed experiences in tourism, in addition to the participation of the Tour Guide Mr. Khalid Al-Touq, who assured that Islamic moral practices are the best way to host the Kingdom's visitors. Arabic Langauge Department Head, Abha Literary Club Director, Dr. Ahmad Al-Tihani, praised the title of the 'Terhab' campaign, highlighting its eloquent value and encouraging increased participation of Abha Literary Club members. At the end of the symposium, Training Supervisor at the Department of Media and Communication, Dr. Ali Zuhair Al-Qahtani, announced that the campaign won Best Graduation Project for the students of the Department of Media and Communication for the first semester of the 1441 academic year.
  Source: King Khalid University - Media Center During a meeting with staff of Academic Service Units on Thursday at the main campus central auditoriums, King Khalid University Vice Rector of Academic Affairs, Prof. Saad Du'ajim, stressed the importance of activating the role of Academic Service Units in various faculties of the university with the aim of offering solutions and quality services for students. During the meeting, a workshop was held with the participation of the representatives of the university supporting deanships in order to clarify tasks and responsibilities assigned to the Academic Service Units. The workshop discussed admission topics and the academic training system, in addition to Academic guidance, re-enrolment, course schedules, as well as transferring, withdrawing, and a number of recently added services. It also discussed student counseling, which was presented by the Guidance & Counselling Unit and addressed the mechanism of semester withdrawals.
  Source: King Khalid University - Media Center According to the 2020 Times Global Ranking of Academic and Research Institutions, King Khalid University's Department of Physics was ranked 4th at the domestic level and 601 internationally. The College of Science, represented by the Dean of the College and the Head of Physics Department, thanked Rector Al-Solamy for his continuous support to the college and the department. Dean of the College of Science, Dr. Ali Al Shati, explained that international rankings are a reliable performance indicator of educational institutions, noting that the Physics Department is elated to celebrate this achievement. He further explained that the Department of Physics has engaged in numerous international collaborations and is a pioneer in the field of research. Physics Department Head, Dr. Ali Al Shehri, explained that this ranking is the result of distinguished research groups and great efforts exerted by the department members. He further asserted that the department has over 40 years of experience in teaching and research since its establishment in 1397.    
  Source: King Khalid University - Media Center On November 19, 2019, the Faculty of Languages and Translation organized a ceremony to honor the winners of the Cultural and Sports Olympiad for the first academic semester of 1441. The ceremony witnessed the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Translation, Dr. Abdullah Al-Melhi, and a number of college members in Auditorium 5. The ceremony also included honoring English Club members for their efforts in the Culture and Sports Olympiad. Dean Al-Melhi expressed his gratitude towards the winners and English Club members. He also thanked the Deanship of Student Affairs for offering competitions that motivate students to be creative in many fields. Of noteworthy mention, the ceremony agenda was presented by students who competed in the Olympiad, which included a speech, a recitation from the Holy Quran, a short film, and a poem.

Moreover, he asserted that King Khalid University provides vital community and academic services for the region, explaining that now is the time to provide all necessary resources to achieve greater results. This came during a meeting held by His Royal Highness with faculty members and staff at the College of Medicine, in the presence of His Excellency, King Khalid University Rector Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, on Monday in Auditorium 6. His Royal Highness explained that this visit aims to enhance the College of Medicine's role in the community, explaining that all proposals and suggestions will be considered to serve the mission of the College of Medicine. His Royal Highness: "Today, I come to serve you." At the beginning of the meeting, Rector Al-Solamy welcomed His Royal Highness and expressed his gratitude and appreciation towards his continuous support to King Khalid University's activities and projects. Dean of College of Medicine, Prof. Suliman Al-Humayed, explained in his speech that this visit is a historic moment for the College of Medicine on the occasion of His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud's visit to elevate the college and activate its role in the region. Following after, Vice Dean of Clinical Affairs, Dr. Saleh Al-Qahtani, delivered a presentation that reviewed the establishment of the college and its achievements during the past four decades. Of noteworthy mention, the educational facilities and the community service health initiatives provided to the region were highlighted. During the meeting, His Royal Highness reviewed strategies and discussed topics that will bolster the role of the College of Medicine in the region. The topics included the university hospital, supporting scientific research, and attracting highly qualified medical staff.
Source: King Khalid University - Media Center Vice Rector of Female Student Affairs, Dr. Khlood Abu Melha, officiated at the inaugural Health and Sport Education forum. The female Deanship of Student Affairs organized the event. The purpose of the forum was to raise awareness of women's health. Exhibits focused on nutrition, exercise, and psychological well-being. The female colleges, along with the Student Guidance Center, sponsored several events such as a track race, cycling competition, and tennis tournament. More than 2,300 women participated in the forum and competitive events. Dr. Fatimah Sha'aban Asiri, Vice Dean of the Deanship of Student Affairs, started the forum with opening remarks stressing the importance of women's public health and sports education. She noted that women's physical fitness, well-being and participation in sports are important components of the national strategy as per Vision 2030, which the university supports. The three top finishers in the short track race in a field of 60 were: Ghada Ibrahim (1) Alhanoof Al-Shahrani (2) Shatha Al-Shehri (3) The three top finishers in the cycle race in a field of 58 were: Ghada Altheeb (1) Taif Asiri (2) Maryam Al-Zahrani (3) In addition, 60 students participated in the Table Tennis tournament.
Under the auspices of the Director General of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development in Asir region, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women was activated in line with the global system that activated this international event on 25th of November each year under the slogan "Stop Violence Against Women ". The campaign was co-organized by seven government agencies representing four ministries:  Ministry of Education represented by (Faculty of Science and Literature, Khamis Mushit) Student activity management from Aseer education - scouting activity management  Ministry of Health represented by The Saudi-German Hospital in Aseer | Abha, Abha Private Hospital | Armed Forces Hospital in the South region. Human Rights Commission branch in Asir  Ministry of Interior, represented by the General Directorate of Prisons In Asir. The campaign included corners and units by each government agency through which they highlight the role of each ministry in protecting women from violence and strategies they work on to prevent violence before it occurs and the procedures used in the case of identifying a case of violence, The campaign was launched and supervised by staff members from King Khalid University and Officials from all participating ministries, specialists, psychologists and social workers. The campaign was carried out by a team of 45 scouts led by the scouting supervisor, and eight volunteers from three volunteer teams (Cloud Team | Athooq Team | and Zajil Team). Specialists and consultants in family and psychological affairs have provided information on the campaign and provided the necessary advice to public and shoppers. The campaign was covered by a some journalists from Asir media using Snapchat and electronic newspapers. This campaign comes within the educational programs that take a serious turn in involving all ministries to stop and respond to violence and work to build an organization that supports the state's approach to give women their rights decided by the Islamic law. The Director General of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development in Asir Mr.Hussein bin Hamad al-Marri and assistant director of the Social Protection Unit of Abha Mr.Ahmed bin Saeed Asiri took a tour of all corners and learned about the activities contributed by the authorities to participate in the event. The event was characterized by the presence of the scout band, which presented a performance and a song by the Scouts, led by Ms.Sherifa Al-Aalmi, and then at the end of the event the Director General presented the shields of honor and certificates to all the participants and to the staff.    
  The "Musk" Student Activity Club at the Faculty of Science and Arts in Khamis Mushit in cooperation with the Student Affairs Deanship Agency for femaleStudent Affairsestablished a program entitled (Ink it) on Monday1441/3/21  The program talked about the Qur'an and its inking and writingand memorizing Al-Baqaa and urging the students and encouraging them to pay attention to the Qur'an in order to preserve, review and work on it. The program began with a recitation of the Quran followed by a speech about the virtue of the Quran and followed by a segment in which students provided a model from their memorization and then the segment of beautiful voices. The program was concluded with a competition and awardingthe winners.
Musk Club for Student Activity of the college of Science and Arts in Khamis Mushayt, in cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs organized a workshop entitled (Successful interview skills), presented by Ms. Rahma Alawi. On Thursday, 24/3/1441 at 10 am The course included a discussion on preparing before going through interviews, in terms of building a resume and having certificates of experience and learning languages. It included the following topics: 1- Know yourself and your abilities 2. Create your profile (CV + certificates). 3. Know all about the advanced job (title / tasks / location / what that job can offer you) and know everything about the institution or place of employment (title / achievements / management) 4- Etiquettes and manners. 5. Calmness and self-confidence. The workshop was concluded with a discussion session with students about the most prominent obstacles experiences by them and try to help them to overcome it.
Musk Club for Student Activity at the Faculty of Science and Arts in Khamis Mushayt in cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs for Female Students Affairs organized a program on the art of forming and delivering news on Thursday, 24/3/1441 at 11 am . Students from the Department of English offered the program.The program included a brief overview of the mechanism of drafting and delivering news provided by the student Taif Al Jarallah and then the rest of the students Awatif Hashbel, Rahaf Asiri and Taif Al Shahrani presented a number of news which quoted the most important news from the University Magazine.The program was attended and highly appreciated by about 19 students.
The "Musk" Student Activity Club at the Faculty of Science and Ats in Khamis Mushit in cooperation with the Student Affairs Deanship Agency held a course on how to write technical documents presented by Ms. Noura Al-Shahrani. On Wednesday. 23_3_1441 E. At 10am. The course contained several topics, the most important of which was the most important types of technical documents, such as project reports, scientific research, master's and doctoral proposals and README files. The most important steps in each of them are detailed, with the difference of steps by document type and the type of readers. She also explained the most important points to be aware of during the writing of a technical document or technical research, and how to write references in several famous ways such as Harvard, APA, IEEE, and then talked about the most prominent search sites such as the Saudi Digital Library or google scholar. She also talked about how to write an automatic table, and how to number pages in Roman and Arabic numerals. the program wasconcluded with a practical explanation of her research at the master's degreeand the most important points in it, and how to write references.  
The "Musk" Student Activity Club at the college of Science and Arts in Khamis Mushit, in collaboration with the Student Affairs Deanship Agency, held a course on how to make soap, incense and perfumes for female students presented by Dr.: Mastora Idris. On Tuesday 22_3_1441 at 11 a.m. The course was started by introducing chemistry and its importance in human life and what is the relationship of the incense industry, perfumes and soap with chemistry and then moved on to talk about incense, she talked about its benefits and the way of making itat home with high quality from the beginning to the end and what is the most prominent raw materials of the incense industry and the method of packing, then moved on to talkabout perfumes and mentioned the types of perfumes and the composition of liquid perfumes and then the composition of cream perfumes and then the method of installing and maintaining perfumes . Then talked about soap and mentioned its types and some of the properties of soap and then moved to explain the various forms such as the composition of household detergents and the sterile liquid of the hand and car wash and presell; theabayas detergent and dettol and others.
  Musk Club for Student Activity at the Faculty of Science and Arts in Khamis Mushayt in cooperation with the Deanship of Students' Affairs for Female Students Affairs held an exhibition entitled (Creative Arts) on Sunday, 20_3_1441 AH at the college theater. Where the corners of the exhibition are equipped in special categories according to the work provided by the students and the exhibition welcomed visitors with songs and roses, then a student Rana Al- Qahtani presented  her talent in make-up by creating a special corner in which she puts the make-up of a film to the audience dedicated to highlighting her talent in this field, as student Hajar Albishri prepared a special corner about healthy eating within the framework of the health culture that she is interested in as she is certified in this field and explained some nutrients to the students and the importance of eating them, a group of students prepared a special corner for recycling using bowls, cans, plastic and threads , the exhibition was more interesting by the wonderful crochet designs from the work of a group of students as well as some of the special fashion designs presented by the student wadha Al Ghamdi, this exhibition included various corners of painting, design, photography and writing thoughts with the participation of a large number of female students, and the exhibition was well received by all, with the number of beneficiaries reaching nearly 100 students.
