The Information Systems Department provides its students with the essential knowledge and skills needed in developing their ability to think logically and work as a team as well as to upgrade their academic level in its three axes (knowledge, practice and research). All of the department’s courses are designed to ensure a balance between theoretical and applied aspects, allowing students to develop the ability to challenge problems, make innovations and creativity, and contribute actively in sustainability and community communication. Currently, the department's graduates occupy some of the most important positions related to the fields of software development, engineering and web pages designing.

The growing importance of computer development and modern technology and the need for specialists in this area after the penetration of computers in all aspects of life,In this sense it is the reality of the anticipated need for competencies in the field of computers. King Khalid University sought to keep up with this increase through the preparation of qualified scientific cadres in the field of computer science under the umbrella of Faculty of Arts and Sciences in khamis-mushait.
