The department was established in 1430 AH under the auspices of the College of Arts and Sciences in Khamis Mushait, then it was annexed to the Applied College in Khamis Mushait in 1444 AH.
The Information Systems department offers students the necessary knowledge to enhance their organizational skills, teamwork abilities, and academic thinking skills across three domains (cognitive, practical research).

King Khalid University has sought to keep pace with this increase by preparing qualified scientific cadres in the field of computer science at the College of Applied Sciences in Khamis Mushait.
