His Royal Highness, the Governor of the Asir Province, Prince Faisal Bin Khalid Bin Abdulaziz received the Rector of King Khalid University, Prof. Dr. Faleh Bin Rajaa Allah Al-Solamy, on July 31, 2017. The General Supervisor of the King Khalid Chair for Scientific Research, the Dean of the Graduate Studies of the University, Dr. Ahmed Bin Yahia Al-Fay’e accompanied the Rector. HRH the Governor welcomed the visitors and extended his support. Afterwards, Dr. Al-Fay’e presented a detailed explanation on the accomplished arrangements of the King Khalid Chair for Scientific Research. He clarified that the Chair has tirelessly worked to enhance the social development gained in the era of King Khalid Bin Abdul Aziz-May God have mercy on him. Dr. Al-Fay'e added that the Chair aims to complete highly coveted scientific projects and field studies that in return serve developmental and educational opportunities in the Asir region. Furthermore, the Chair seeks to attract renown researchers known for scientific excellence. At the end of the meeting, Rector Al-Solamy expressed his thanks and appreciation to HRH the Governor for His unwavering support to the University and for His continuous follow up in all of its activities and various fields.
King Khalid University, represented by the Graduate Studies Deanship, announced the availability of admission to the Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA). The program is merit based and will come at no cost for both male and female students. Admission to the program will be available from 11/11/1438 to 20/11/1438. His Excellency, Prof. Dr. Faleh Bin Rajaa Allah Al Solamy, the Rector of King Khalid University, sponsored the signing of an agreement between the University, represented by the Deanship of Library Affairs and the Saudi Digital Library. The University was represented by the Dean of Library Affairs, Dr. Abdullah Saeed Al Nasser, while the Saudi Digital Library was represented the Advisor to the Minister of Education, the General Supervisor of the Library, Dr. Abdul Hamid Al Sulaiman. The signing was during the Rector’s visit to the Central Library of the University. Rector Al Solamy praised the constructive role of the digital library and its efforts in providing the diverse knowledge resources provided by the most prominent international and Arab publishing houses, stressing the keenness of the universities that represent them to make the best use of this rich electronic content. For his part, Dr. Al Nasser explained that the inspection visit of the University Rector was to review the Deanship, its activities, and contents, as a result of the critical role of the central library to the educational process. Furthermore, Dr. Al Nasser pointed out that the Deanship of Library Affairs has endeavored to sign an agreement with the Saudi Digital Library, as it contains hundreds of thousands of scientific books and magazines. It provides excellent academic service to universities and students, noting that the university needs such agreements as the University has witnessed significant growth in graduate studies programs. It is worth mentioning that the signed agreement stipulated that the university joins the Saudi Digital Library membership which is the largest academic gathering of information resources in the Arab world. It includes over 200 million scientific articles, including 550,000 digital books and reference books, 160,000 journals, articles, dissertation, and multimedia conferences covering all academic disciplines.
In a Signature Electronic Allegiance His Excellency, the Rector of King Khalid University, Prof. Dr. Faleh bin Rajaa Allah Al-Solamy, conveyed his sincerest congratulations to His Royal Highness, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz on the occasion of the Royal Trust appointing His Royal Highness to be the Crown Prince. Earlier, His Royal Highness, Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz - may God preserve him - made significant efforts in various fields, served his country, and contributed to its progress. When Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz was the Crown Prince, many achievements were accomplished, the most prominent was expanding security, especially in the field of fighting terrorism and uprooting it from the source. Rector Al-Solamy wished His Royal Highness the Crown Prince all the best in progressing advancement and prosperity. On this remarkable occasion, the University Vice-President for Academic and Educational Affairs, Prof. Dr. Sa’ad bin Mohammed bin Dajjam, congratulated the wise leadership of the pledge to His Royal Highness,  Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and his appointment as Deputy Prime Minister. In turn, the University Vice-President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Majid Al-Harbi, said that the selection of His Royal Highness, Prince Mohammed bin Salman as Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense indicates the profound vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. He further asserted that this is especially notable after the numerous successes achieved by His Royal Highness, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in various fields and after proving his ability in all the tasks entrusted to him. The Deanship of Admission and Registration at King Khalid University has started to receive registration requests for the academic year 1438/1439 AH, which will continue until the 10th of next month. The registration process will be implemented electronically. The Dean of Admissions and Registration, Dr. Abdulmuhsin Al Qarni, said that admission will be fully electronic, noting that the student or guardian will not need to review the Deanship or send any documents to the university. He pointed out that the marks of competencies, attainment, and the secondary ratios will reach the university electronically in liaison with the concerned parties. He also noted the need to complete the required tests from the National Center for Measurement and to adhere to the specified registration dates. Dr. Al Qarni stressed that the Deanship seeks to develop outstanding admission procedures by allowing for greater flexibility, which in turn allows the student to change the specialization after admission through the electronic services on the website according to the available seats in different specialties. He indicated that after initial acceptance, the applicants would be sorted on three separate stages according to the percentages of applicants, noting that the applicant to the University of King Khalid has to fill out the form himself and choose the disciplines that fit his abilities. Dr. Al Qarni added that the qualifying percentage (secondary + Attainment + competencies) would be taken into account in the specialties of the faculties of health, engineering and computer in addition to the scientific colleges and special education for male students, and all disciplines for the female students. Furthermore, acceptance will be approved upon the balanced percentage in the theoretical disciplines for male students only. It is noteworthy that the Deanship of Admissions and Registration at King Khalid University distributed more than 20,000 brochures about acceptance to secondary school students and places of the gathering of beneficiaries, such as tests of attainment and competencies. The Deanship also provided a paper and electronic specialties director which shows available specialties at the University and their fields of work in the future.
King Khalid University (KKU) continues significant progress in the international arena of university rankings. KKU improved its ranking by 43 spots from 520th in 2016 to the 477th in 2017. It also achieved 10th place at the level of Arab universities and narrowed national rankings by moving up one spot to 4thamong universities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The results were based on the measurements of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) organization. The King Khalid University (KKU) has recently obtained the Full Institutional Accreditation from the Education Evaluation Authority - the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment, in recognition of the KKU's academic standing and the culmination of a series of achievements recently achieved by the University in a number of fields. The university had received the letter of accreditation officially from the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment, which included accrediting the KKU for seven years until 2024. On this occasion, His Excellency the Rector of KKU, Dr. Faleh Bin Rajaa Allah Al-Solamy said that this achievement is only one of the achievements made by the University to achieve its strategic vision and ambitious plans towards achieving the vision of the Kingdom 2030. Dr. Al-Solamy Congratulated the university's employees on this achievement, expressing his sincere thanks and appreciation to the University Vice-President, deans of the faculties, supporting deanships, faculty members, directors of university departments, employees, students, in addition to Aseer community and university graduates for their dedication to the University. is Excellency, Rector Al-solamy further stated that this achievement would not have been achieved without the support of God and then the continued support of the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz, His Highness the Crown Prince and His Highness the Crown Deputy Prince, and the continuous and unwavering follow-up by His Highness the Governor of Aseer Region- May Allah keep them all safe. The Governor of Aseer Region, Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdul-Aziz, is patronizing the 19th class's graduating of the King Khalid University students. The event took place at the University Theater in Abha. On this occasion, His Excellency, Dr. Faleh bin Rajaa Allah Al Solamy, the Rector of King Khalid University, thanked His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdul-Aziz, Governor of Aseer Region, for sponsoring the graduation ceremony of the 19th class, noting that the university graduates are steadily increasing each year thanks to God, then the great support that the education receives from our wise government led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness, Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdul-Aziz, and the Crown Deputy Prince, His Royal Highness, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul-Aziz. The University Rector also stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia lives an important stage in its march towards advancement and progress in keeping pace with the advanced world. This was reflected on the Saudi universities, including King Khalid University, which was keen to improve its educational outputs, especially the graduated student, and enable him/her to enter the labor market and job competition, and serve his homeland and nation. And we congratulate this nation of this constellation of graduates who will be the wheels that could contribute to move on the advancement, development, and building of the Kingdom and to achieve the aspirations of this nation; the leadership and people" Al-Qarni added, "This year, our university graduated more than 9,000 students to the labor market. The number of graduate students in Bachelor degree of both sexes has reached 7751, while the number of graduates in Diploma Certificate has reached 809. The number of postgraduate are 470 graduates; 47 in Doctorate degree and 23 graduates in Master degree"
Within the framework of King Khalid University's initiatives offered by the Deanship of e-learning, specifically through the kkux platform, which aims to provide the most important skills for the future jobs with high-quality and universal electronic content that will benefit the community in the areas of job search or skills development, King Khalid University (KKU) starts receiving applications for joining the first entrepreneurial skills from the platform.  The course, entitled "Fundamentals of Start-Up Companies", and is presented by Mr. Mohammed Al-Rikayan, who started his first company in 2003. He has established three companies (Najah, Rizk and Qureiz-Al Majlis) and is currently developing one of the best entrepreneurial programs to transform ideas and passion to successful and sustainable companies. This course provides beneficiaries with the basics of creating startups (technical and non-technical) for beginners in the world of entrepreneurship in a simplified way for non-business professionals, testing the feasibility of the opportunity, rather than writing a feasibility study. The recipient of the skill receives, if desired, a certified certificate from King Khalid University at a symbolic price, and PDF files with many exercises. Managing the skill will help the recipient to meet those who have the same interest via networking. On the other hand, the kkux platform announced the start of receiving applications for the preparatory course "Ielts", presented by Dr. Abdul Raouf Khan and Dr. Daniel Parker. The University holds this course as an academic body, in partnership with the British Council, which is the official body to put the Ielts test. Experts were used to collect the grades that the student needs to move on to the next step in his/her educational journey. The course includes the official content of the British Council, with its videos and tests covering the four language skills "Listening, Writing, Reading and Speaking", taught by two official lab professionals who are accredited by the British Council. The applicant will also receive a certificate of skill completion, sealed by King Khalid University and the British Council stamps. In addition, the applicant could join a virtual cooperative community that will help in exchanging experiences, as well as receiving PDF files that help in understanding and assimilation, for a symbolic price. It is noteworthy that the beginning of the registration period in the kkux platform initiatives has been since the inauguration of the Rector of the platform last March, and will continue until the date of launching on 1 May 2017, while the two sessions will continue for one month.
King Khalid University, represented by the Center for Talent and Entrepreneurship, obtained three advanced awards in the fields of medical inventions, computers and information technology in the 45th round of Geneva International Innovation Exhibition that was held in Geneva, Switzerland. The student, Huda Abaq won the gold medal in the branch of medical inventions. She invented a device to measure blood sugar by breathing. Student Abdullah Al-Halafy won the silver medal in the computer branch for an invention of the electronic card. Student Mazen Al-Bassami obtained the bronze medal in the Information Technology Branch, for creating a smart refrigerator. His Excellency, Dr. Ahmed Al-Jubaili, the Vice-President for Development and Quality, congratulated the winners for their success at the global level, stressing the importance of these exhibitions and activities for all students, as well as creating realistic opportunities for applying their ideas and linking their academic disciplines and innovation. As well as self-confidence and the ability to present their ideas effectively. He said, "These partnerships will allow them to learn about international experiences and contribute to their role in the overall development of the Kingdom and enhance their ability to compete internationally" he added, " These efforts come in line with Saudi Arabia's directions. This is confirmed by the vision of the Kingdom of 2030 which united the efforts and provided an active and effective academic environment in which all university employees strive to achieve national, regional, and international excellence.
King Khalid University Rector, Dr. Faleh Bin Rajaa Allah Al-Salami issued a decree appointing Dr. Mohammed bin Ali Al-Hassoun as the Vice-President of the University. The decision was approved by the temporary committee of Higher Education affairs (canceled). In addition, His Excellency the Rector issued another decree to appoint Dr. Mohammed Al-Dajjam as the University Vice-President for educational and academic affairs besides his work as the University Vice-President for girls' colleges. On this occasion, Dr. Al-Hassoun expressed his pride of confidence, stressing that it will motivate him to do his best to contribute, with his fellow Vice-presidents and under the direction of the Rector, to achieve the aspirations of the wise leadership; provide the university education that meets the vision of the Kingdom.  Dr. Al-Hassoun asked God- the Almighty- to help him in performing his duty well. It is noteworthy that Dr. Al-Hassoun holds a doctorate from Exeter University in the United Kingdom and has an impressive curriculum vitae. He held several positions, most recently was King Khalid University Vice-President for Educational and Academic Affairs in late 2013 after the generous approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud - God's mercy - in addition to his presidency and membership of a number of committees.

Under the patronage of the Prince of Asir Al-Salami, the Second International Conference on Combating Cybercrime at the University opens On behalf of the Prince of Assir, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King Khalid University President, Dr. Faleh Bin Rajaa Allah Al Salami, inaugurated today the Second International Conference on Combating Cybercrime and the accompanying exhibition organized by the University, Represented by the General Directorate of Information Technology, and takes place during the period 27-28 Jumada II 1438 AH in Abha. Al-Salami thanked His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud for his unlimited support of the University and its programs. He also thanked His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al-Issa. This is the result of fruitful cooperation between various governmental and civil sectors.            For his part, the General Supervisor of the General Administration of Information Technology, Chairman of the Scientific Committee, Dr. Salim Al-Olayani, said that the university, represented by the General Directorate of Information Technology, and its role in the service of society and the promotion of scientific research, And increase community awareness and sense of security among the members of the community. Moreover, the forum is a good chance for King Khalid University teaching staff to exchange experiences among themselves and with other universities by exchanging views and discussions about the provided researches.
