Digital Privacy: Awareness and Empowerment
In light of rapid technological advancements and students’ increasing reliance on the internet in their daily lives, protecting personal privacy online has become essential. The College of Sciences and Arts Club (Female Section) in Khamis Mushait, in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems and the Vice Deanship of Student Affairs (Female Section), organized an event titled" Digital Privacy: Awareness and Empowerment " The event aimed to raise awareness among female students about the importance of protecting their digital privacy and to introduce them to the tools and techniques necessary for digital security in the virtual world.
The event began at 9:00 AM with the reception of students and the distribution of printed awareness materials that included tips and guidelines on digital privacy. This was followed by an interactive tour of educational stations covering critical topics, such as creating strong passwords, identifying phishing emails, adjusting privacy settings on social media, and utilizing privacy protection tools.
The event also featured discussion sessions and hospitality, offering refreshments to the students and participants.
The day concluded with a note of appreciation for the students’ engagement and enthusiasm for learning, along with an emphasis on the importance of continuing to adopt safe practices to safeguard their digital privacy and security.
