Translation Exhibition and Marathon
The Musk Club, in collaboration with the Deanship of Student Affairs for Female Students, organized an event titled "Translation Exhibition and Marathon" on Tuesday, 10/14/1445 AH, from 9 AM to 12 PM. The exhibition included several parts:
1. Cultures of the following countries:
- France
- Italy
- India
- South Korea
Traditional clothing from these countries was displayed and worn, accompanied by interactive presentations and special distributions representing the cultures of these nations. The exhibition also featured informational booths supervised by students from the English Department.
2. Focus Areas of the Exhibition:
- Important vocabulary in the language.
- Numbers and greetings.
- The language spoken by the inhabitants of the country, including an introduction and its characteristics.
- Famous food in those countries.
The program also included workshops focusing on translation from Arabic to English, such as:
- Fansub Translation on the Internet.
- English Slangs.
- The Art of Image Translation.
At the end of the program, books and dictionaries on translation were distributed, along with printed barcodes for translation websites and excellent applications serving students in this field. Additionally, there were competitions for the best translation of literary, cultural, and social texts, and a competition for the best booth.
