University Vice president Prof. Mohammad bin Hamid Al Buhair said “ Evidence of our wise leadership’s support and insight continues to appear in various fields of prosperity and development.  He added, the entry of 15 Saudi universities  in the Times classification is a 50% increase  in comparison to the pervious ranking and a sold indication of the efforts and devotion dedicated towards the field of education.

Great Leap

University Vice president of Academic affairs Prof. Saad bin Mohammad bin Dujam commented: His Excellency the minister of Education ’s announcement that t 15 Saudi universities entered  the Times Classification 2022 is leap towards achieving one of the main goals of our  strategic vision to have  at least 3 Saudi  universities among  international classifications. Bin Dujam, added The Times classification depends on several indicators, most important of which are the volume of innovation, the number of PhD holders, the institution’s reputation in research, the number of annual research papers, citations to university research, stressing that these achievement are all a result of the efforts led by the Ministry of Education and the  Universities to align with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.”

University  Vice president  for Business and Knowledge Economy, Prof. Dr. Abdullatif bin Ibrahim Al-Hadithi, congratulated our  wise leadership and His Excellency the Minister of Education and  the Saudi Universities on the  entry of 15 Saudi universities into the Times World University Rankings 2022, noting that these achievements are a result of the continuous support dedicated to  education from our wise leadership. ” Al-Hadithi added, “ Saudi universities competition  with other universities at the regional and global levels, is only a result of their capabilities, the empowerment of the universities  education systems,  the efficiency of programs and projects and our national intention to align  with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.

Promoting  Research and Innovation

University Vice president of Post Graduate  Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Hamid bin Majdoua Al-Qarni, praised the entry of the 15 Saudi universities into the Times Classification 2022. Al-Qarni, explained that, King Khalid University, through its educational and research systems, strives to promote a culture of research and innovation in line with the Kingdom's ambitious Vision 2030 and serves the goals and directions of the Ministry of Education.  He added, "This  achievement proves the university's efforts in the research and publication field , noting that  during the past five years a significant rise in the citations rate was positively reflected on the university’s classification locally and globally, the rate of  published research papers  reached about 519%, and a clear   increase in the number of citations amounted to about 152%, which are all a result of the university’s efforts and sources directed to the filed of research and innovation.

University Vice president of Quality and Development, Dr. Marzan bin Awada Al-Shahrani, said, “We have the right to be proud of the  global competitiveness of the education sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the entry of 15 Saudi universities in the British Times classification,  which is due to the unlimited support that Saudi universities receive from our  government and the directions and supervision of the Ministry of Education. Al-Shahrani added, "This achievement comes as a translation of the great progress witnessed by Saudi universities in the fields of teaching, scientific research and knowledge transfer between regional and international universities, as well as the development of university training programs by all modern methods. He finally said : our future holds  great opportunities to achieve continuous successes in bridging university outputs to serve the labor market and  to achieve the directions of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.”

The Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences in Abha, Dr. Majid Saad Al Faye, commended  the entry of 15 Saudi universities into the Times Classification ,  and the 50%  in crease reached in 2022. The most recent of these honorable results was the entry of 15 universities in the Times World University Rankings, among 1662 universities selected from 99 countries around the world.

  Source: King Khalid University Media Center Under patronage of his Excellency King Khalid university President Prof Falleh bin Rajallah Al Solami, the university finalized the preparations to inaugurate 6 digital  platforms,  in a ceremony that will be held on Thursday, September 9, at the University Theater in Greger, in the presence of a number of experts and specialist. The Vice Rector for Business and Knowledge Economy, Prof. Dr. Abdullatif bin Ibrahim Al-Hadithi, explained that digital transformation is one of the main pillars to achieve the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, as King Khalid University is keen to improve the quality of education and to cope with  the latest developments in the digital world .He added  through the inauguration  of 6  educational platforms, we seek to provide learners with the information skills necessary to equip them with  self-learning mechanisms, develop creative thinking and make the learner more in control of the educational process and time management.
Source: King Khalid University Media Center King Khalid University  completed the implementation of its  project to transform  its community colleges into an applied college. This decision was made after the procedures adopted by the university based on what was issued in this regard by the Council of Universities Affairs and the Ministry of Education, according to an executive plan that took into account  with the job  market requirements, the latest  developments in the field of  technology and communications, and the need for applied skills and expertise. His Excellency King Khalid University,  Prof. Dr. Faleh bin Rajaa Al-Solami, said that transforming community colleges into applied colleges comes within the framework of working to contribute in achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and in response to the Ministry of Education’s endeavor to raise the level of  education and training. He added,  I made sure that the project takes in account the opinions, needs and perspectives of beneficiaries from both the  public and private sectors, and receives  the  attention it deserves through administrative and specialized scientific committees. On his part,  the University Vice president of  Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Saad bin Muhammad bin Dajam, explained that the project to  convert  community colleges to applied colleges, includes a college in Khamis Mushait, followed by three branches in Abha and  in Mahayel Asir. The Secretary of the Supervisory Committee of the Applied College, Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Mari’ Al-Asiri, Extended his thanks to  King Khalid University president, members of the Supervisory Committee and the Vice president of d Academic Affairs for their interest and keenness in the this process. He explained that the university had recently adopted five applied programs within its implementation plan to transform Community colleges into applied colleges,  which included  business administration program, an accounting program, a marketing program, an information systems program, and  web and mobile programming program, noting that the college will follow a  three-semester system. It is worth noting that these programs are considered qualitative programs, and the percentage of training in them at the level of all programs (courses, projects and cooperative training) reaches about 70%. The college is scheduled to work on serving its outputs through three main tracks that include the development of various short and medium quality programs.It aims to  respond to the needs of the labor market,  meet  professional requirements, and creates community partnerships with businessmen, institutions and companies in the region to support  training and employment.

Al-Qarni, added that one of the most prominent recommendations made by the Council is the approval of the  rules governing the intellectual awareness unit at King Khalid University and its executive procedures,  the approval of the proposal for executive alignment between the university’s strategy 2030 and the strategy of the Asir region, in addition to appointment decisions,  delegation and transfer of some faculty members.

The 6  electronic platforms, are a result of the  university's efforts and keenness to develop the  educational process  and improve the quality of teaching and learning by coping with the  latest developments in self based education. His Excellency the President of the University commended the  attention and care devoted by out wise leadership to education in the corona pandemic time, which enabled the filed of education to succeed and for students to return  to schools and university campus safely. His Excellency,  praised the progress and leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of education and e-learning, stressing that the launch of these platforms serves  university students and  members of  our society in a variety of areas of learning. He  also added ,  that the most prominent feature of these platforms is that  they were built by a team of students,  faculty members and employees. On the future of these  platforms, the Vice president of  Business and Knowledge Economy, Prof. Dr. Abdullatif bin Ibrahim Al-Hadithi, explained that the  university is  determined  to transform these platforms into specialized technology companies, believing in  the importance of coping with the latest educational developments  and to improve  education  outcomes that meet the  new university system. He  also added that these platforms are national projects that contribute to achieving the Kingdom's Vision 2030, in addition to achieving the university's vision to be among the top 200 universities in the world. Supervisor of the Design and Digital Platforms Unit, Dean of E-Learning, Dr. Nayef Jabali, said  that the Design and Digital Platforms Unit works in the areas of design innovation and the production of digital platforms that contribute to the growth of  knowledge economy and that is  through  focusing  on reinventing services and products. The inauguration included the following platforms: - kkux platform and application for future skills. - Fikra platform for creative development ideas. - Maher platform for training and knowledge enrichment.    -Jazel platform that allows graduate students the opportunity to communicate with experts in the fields of arbitration, statistics, translation and proofreading. - Qimma interactive platform for managing conferences and forums. -  A+ platform the first platform to provide students with references and questions banks.   It is worth noting ,that the  University agency  for Business and Knowledge Economy has taken, during its short life, many great steps in its field of specialization, achieving  knowledge economy and performing its mission of contributing to building a business and knowledge community at King Khalid University.
