More Than 700 Join the Saudi Stem Cells Donor Registry

  Source: King Khalid University - Media Center King Khalid University, represented by the Medicine and Innovation Club at the College of Medicine, recently concluded a 10-day awareness campaign on the importance of donating stem cells, under the supervision and participation of the Saudi Stem Cells Donor Registry (SSCDR). The campaign registered more than 700 donors at the campaign headquarters in Abha under the supervision of College of Medicine Dean, Prof. Suliman Mohammed Al-Humayed, and Student Activities Director, Dr. Wadah Al-Almaie. Of noteworthy mention, the campaign aims to reach out to the largest segment of society in order to increase the number of registered donors. This will enhance the ability to match donors to patients suffering from serious diseases in need of a stem cell transplant. The stem cell donation awareness campaign is based on international best practices and the latest techniques to determine tissue typing and blood group.

College of Medicine Holds Campaign to Raise Awareness on Stem Cell Donation

  Source: King Khalid University - Media Center King Khalid University, represented by the College of Medicine and the Creative Medicine Club, organized an awareness campaign on the importance of stem cell donation. The campaign will be held in collaboration with the Saudi Stem Cells Donor Registry (SSCDR). College of Medicine Dean, Prof. Suliman Mohammed Al-Humayed, said that the campaign aims to raise awareness on the importance of donating stem cells and facilitating the registration of donors, noting that stem cell transplantation is used to treat many life-threatening diseases. The campaign will be held at the Airport Park, Art Street, and Al Rashid Mall under the supervision and follow-up of Dean Al-Humayed and Student Activities Director, Dr. Wadah Al-Almaie.

More Than 200 Students From 6 Universities Attend the Clinical Medicine Preparation Course

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center The Medicine and Innovation Club at King Khalid University organized a clinical medicine skills preparation course tailored for 200 upperclassmen from around the Kingdom. At the beginning of the course, College of Medicine Dean, Prof. Suliman Mohammed Al-Humayed, and Student Activities Director, Dr. Wadah Al-Almaie, delivered a lecture on clinical skills to set the stage for students in their clinical years. Of noteworthy mention, a select group of resident physicians, consultants, and elite students will lead the course, which is represented by Umm Al-Qura University, Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, Jazan University, Najran University, and Bisha University.
