Excelling Over 1500 Educational Institutions, the University's e-Learning Achieves First Place in the QM International Competitions

  Source: King Khalid University Media Center The Deanship of E-Learning at King Khalid University,  achieved first place in the international “QM” organization competitions, in the category of  making a difference among students at the level of higher education institutions outside the United States of America for the year 2021. The university's coronation comes first among a number of higher education institutions participating in the competitions of the "Quality Matters" organization, a world leader in the quality of electronic courses, in which the number of joint educational institutions exceeded  1500 educational institutions from 30 countries around the world. His Excellency the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaa Al-Solami, explained that this  achievement  confirms the excellence of the education and e-learning system at the university, and also translates the learning success stores and their  prominent impact in  transferring  and delivering knowledge.  He  expressed  his appreciation  our wise leadership  and the Ministry of Education for the attention devoted to Education in all regions of  Saudi Arabia. The Dean of e-Learning, Dr. Adel Qahmesh, confirmed that the International “QM” organization annually presents an award to honor excellence in e-learning in the global community of practice for  quality systems. He  stressed  that achieving this award is a result of the deanships  activation of many initiatives targeting  quality  courses and programs, as well as employing  designed  learning experiences that meet the needs of learners according to their different fields, in addition to providing support  services to all groups benefiting from the e-learning system at the university. It is worth noting, that the Deanship of e-Learning at the university has worked for some time to develop, design and apply innovative tools, techniques and software that have greatly contributed to improving the e-learning process and its outcomes.

University Signs a Memorandum of Cooperation with “”

  Source: King Khalid University Media Center King Khalid University  and the Human Resources Development Fund (Hadaf) signed a memorandum of cooperation to support the training  and employment of university  graduates and students. The memorandum addressed the need of align   training programs  with the reality of the  labor market , through  programs such as  Career Guidance Program, Career Development and Guidance (Sobol),  Tamher   Training Program , the national electronic training platform “Doroob” and the National Labor Observatory. His Excellency the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Dr. Faleh bin Rajaa Al-Sulami, and the Director General of the Human Resources Development Fund (Hadaf) Turki bin Abdullah Al-Jaweni, also signed a memorandum of remote cooperation and which addressed the following : - Activating the vocational guidance program through workshops in areas of professional development. - Holding remote guidance sessions, and measuring their impact on the target groups. - Providing university students with the knowledge and skills necessary to join the labor market through the Tamher program. - Supporting university students to benefit from the Doroob program in accordance with the approved rules, conditions and mechanism of the program, by holding remote  and interactive training sessions in various fields and specializations. - Making university data available to the National Labor Observatory as well as working to process it and link it with market data. According to the memorandum, it was agreed to form a team of  specialists from the two parties to activate the areas of cooperation, provided that the team would provide the representatives of the two parties with unified periodic reports showing the progress of work and the stages of implementation.

University President Inaugurated the Second Mathematics and its Applications Conference

  Source: King Khalid University media center His Excellency King Khalid University Prof. Faleh bin Rajallah Al Solami, inaugurated  the "Second International  Mathematics and its Applications Conference , which is organized by the Mathematics Department at the College of Science and is to held remotely for a period of  two days. During the launching ceremony, His Excellency the President of the University explained the importance of organizing and holding scientific conferences in various fields  for the university’s progress and development in the fields of scientific research.  He also stressed  the University’s keenness to organize  a series of conferences in the field of mathematics, after the success of the first  conference, and the increasing number of participants in the second edition. The conference is to include the participation of a group of mathematics experts  from distinguished universities in the fields of mathematics from the United States of America, India and Portugal, in addition to Arab and local universities. On her part Dr. Mahra Abdullah Zayed, a member in the  scientific committee of the conference, explained  that 18 papers  were selected to be presented in the conference lectures, pointing out that the conference has received great attention from  specialists in the field of mathematics around the world. She thanked his Excellency the university president for his  support  and  follow-up on all matters concerning the conference. It is worth noting,  that the Mathematics Department has witnessed remarkable development in terms of increasing the number of papers published.

A Meeting to Align the Plans and Programs of the University with the Human Capacity Development Program and Asir Development Strategy

  Source: King Khalid University Media Center His Excellency the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaa Al-Solami, recently sponsored a meeting to “Align  the  Plans and Programs in the Three-Semester System with the Human Capacity Development Program and Asir development  Strategy. The meeting was  organized by the University agency Academic Affairs and  was moderated by the General Supervisor of the Office of the Transition to the Three-Semester System at the University, Dr. Suad Al-Qahtani. The meeting included a speech by the Vice President  of  Academic Affairs, Prof. Saad bin Muhammad bin Dajam, in which he affirmed the university’s keenness to take into account the alignment of its plans and programs with the human capacity development program and the strategy of the Asir , noting that this requires enhancing skills and intensifying training and communication. Al Dajam  reviewed a number of  proposals  in terms of alignment with the strategy of developing  Asir region, including programs in tourism, hospitality, culture, arts, architecture, agriculture, livestock, marine sports and nature. The meeting also included a talk on the axis of "educational programs and curricula" presented by the General Supervisor of the Curriculum and Plans Unit, Dr. Adwaa Al-Ahmari, and another talk on the axis of "Training and Vocational Guidance" presented by the supervisor of the Student Training Unit, Dr. Mona Al-Shehri. It is worth noting, that  the meeting witnessed the presence of a number of officials and employees from the university.

University President Inaugurates the Imtiaz Medical Student Platform

  Source: King Khalid University Media Center His Excellency the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Dr. Faleh bin Rajaa Al-Solami, recently launched the "Imtiaz" platform, aimed to offer  services for  the students of the College of Applied Medical Sciences in Abha, in the presence of the University's Vice president of Academic Affairs, Professor Dr. Saad bin Muhammad bin Dajam. The Dean of the College, Dr. Majid Al Fae’, explained that the platform aims to provide a set of services, most prominent of which are the internship  nomination. He added the platform was built in cooperation between the General Administration of Information Technology and the College of Medical Sciences. Al Fae’ said   that the platform provides many services to all college students during their internship program , most notably leave requests, transfers, and postponements, as well as internal and external inquiries. In addition to archiving alumni data, the platform also contribute to automating the nomination processes according to  information received from the "Academia" system. The meeting was attended by college representatives and officials from  relevant authorities at the university.

University President Receives the General Director of the Real Estate Authority Branch in Asir

During the meeting, the two parties discussed means of cooperation and a number  of common  issues between the two parties. The meeting was attended by the University's Vice president, Prof.  Muhammad Al-Behairi, and the Director of the University's Property Department, Muhammad Al-Qarni.

The College of Arts and Science in Rajal Almaa’a and the Applied branch Launch 4 New Initiatives

  Source:King Khalid University Media Center King Khalid university represented by the college of Arts and Science and its  applied branch in Rajal Al maa’a  recently launched  4 new initiatives, as an extension of the initiatives launched by the college last year, which were very successful. The Dean of the College of Arts and Science in  Rijal Almaa, Dr. Siham Al Haidar, explained that these initiatives come to identify students development needs and offer the skills necessary for the job market. Al Haider, said that the initiatives include the Digital Bag Initiative, the Technical Literacy Initiative, the Volunteer Development Initiative, and the Green College Initiative. She  expressed  her gratitude to the efforts devoted to achieving such programs and thanked those who support it’s success On the details of the initiatives, Al Haidar confirmed that the digital bag initiative is consistent with the axes of the Kingdom’s vision 2030, “a prosperous economy.” and  A Vibrant Society. She added the program targets the public and offers workshops from  a beginner to an intermediate level.

University Excels in the Times World Classification

  Source: King Khalid University Media Center King Khalid University achieved advanced positions in the Times World Classification of Academic Specializations for the year 2022, with the emergence of five academic disciplines among the list of the best international universities. On it’s part, the College of Computer Science ranked 301 globally and fourth nationally, while the College of Engineering advanced 100 ranks  from last year's results and reached 401 globally, while the  medical and health colleges continued to be present in the international classification, by obtaining the 601st place globally, and the physical sciences major, which includes the departments of physics, chemistry, mathematics, statistics, geology, earth and marine sciences, ranked 401st  globally, and sixth locally. Finally,  the life sciences major, which includes biological and veterinary sciences, agriculture and forestry, ranked 601st place in the world. The University Vice President  of Quality and Development Prof.  Dr. Marzan Al-Shahrani, thanked the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Faleh bin Rajaa Al-Solami for his constant support and guidance, and his keenness on the progress and development of the university in various fields. He also thanked the university’s employees for their efforts. The General Supervisor of the University Rankings Unit, Dr. Sami Al-Shehri, explained that the Times classification began in 2010, and   aims to present  an annual list of the best international universities, as well as the best academic disciplines, after evaluating them according to a number of criteria and indicators.In addition the Times World Classification  takes in consideration  the views of university administrations, the industrial and  the government  sector, in order to provide more comprehensive and accurate comparisons. He added ,that there are a number of conditions that must be met in the program for it  to enter the Times classification, where it is required that the research production of the specialization not be less than 1,000 scientific papers during the evaluation years. In  addition the program if a bachelor must not be less than 4 years, and must meet 5 main criteria used in the Times classification, from which 13 indicators are branched in order to accurately assess the performance of the specialization, and they are the same indicators used in evaluating the level of universities with a difference in the weighted percentages for each specialization. It is worth noting that  the International Rankings Unit of the University Agency for Development and Quality is constantly working to support the university's presence in  internationally recognized rankings.

University President :Saudi Universities Global Competitiveness, a Reflection of Our Wise Leadership Guidance

Al Somali, explained that the excel of Saudi Universities in the global classifications are  a result of the attention devoted to education by His Majesty the Custodian of the two holy mosques and the follow up and guidance received by his Royal Highness Crown prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.  He then added, that 15 Saudi University were included in the times classification for the year 2022 , which is a  50% increase in  Saudi Universities .  in comparison to last year and an  indication of the development in  Saudi universities. He  praised the role of the Ministry of Education and the efforts made by His Excellency the Minister, Professor Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Sheikh and His  Undersecretary for  Universities, Research and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Sudairi, are in this direction. Al-Solami, stressed the keenness of King Khalid University, like other Saudi universities, to translate the support and interest it receives into more progress and development, noting that the university, according to its strategic plan, seeks to contribute to achieving Vision 2030, and to becoming among the top 200 universities in the world.

University Officials and Employees: Comment on the “Times 2022” Ranking Classification

Unconditional Support University Vice president Prof. Mohammad bin Hamid Al Buhair said “ Evidence of our wise leadership’s support and insight continues to appear in various fields of prosperity and development.  He added, the entry of 15 Saudi universities  in the Times classification is a 50% increase  in comparison to the pervious ranking and a sold indication of the efforts and devotion dedicated towards the field of education. Great Leap University Vice president of Academic affairs Prof. Saad bin Mohammad bin Dujam commented: His Excellency the minister of Education ’s announcement that t 15 Saudi universities entered  the Times Classification 2022 is leap towards achieving one of the main goals of our  strategic vision to have  at least 3 Saudi  universities among  international classifications. Bin Dujam, added The Times classification depends on several indicators, most important of which are the volume of innovation, the number of PhD holders, the institution’s reputation in research, the number of annual research papers, citations to university research, stressing that these achievement are all a result of the efforts led by the Ministry of Education and the  Universities to align with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.” Ongoing Support University  Vice president  for Business and Knowledge Economy, Prof. Dr. Abdullatif bin Ibrahim Al-Hadithi, congratulated our  wise leadership and His Excellency the Minister of Education and  the Saudi Universities on the  entry of 15 Saudi universities into the Times World University Rankings 2022, noting that these achievements are a result of the continuous support dedicated to  education from our wise leadership. ” Al-Hadithi added, “ Saudi universities competition  with other universities at the regional and global levels, is only a result of their capabilities, the empowerment of the universities  education systems,  the efficiency of programs and projects and our national intention to align  with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030. Promoting  Research and Innovation University Vice president of Post Graduate  Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Hamid bin Majdoua Al-Qarni, praised the entry of the 15 Saudi universities into the Times Classification 2022. Al-Qarni, explained that, King Khalid University, through its educational and research systems, strives to promote a culture of research and innovation in line with the Kingdom's ambitious Vision 2030 and serves the goals and directions of the Ministry of Education.  He added, "This  achievement proves the university's efforts in the research and publication field , noting that  during the past five years a significant rise in the citations rate was positively reflected on the university’s classification locally and globally, the rate of  published research papers  reached about 519%, and a clear   increase in the number of citations amounted to about 152%, which are all a result of the university’s efforts and sources directed to the filed of research and innovation. Global Competitiveness University Vice president of Quality and Development, Dr. Marzan bin Awada Al-Shahrani, said, “We have the right to be proud of the  global competitiveness of the education sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the entry of 15 Saudi universities in the British Times classification,  which is due to the unlimited support that Saudi universities receive from our  government and the directions and supervision of the Ministry of Education. Al-Shahrani added, "This achievement comes as a translation of the great progress witnessed by Saudi universities in the fields of teaching, scientific research and knowledge transfer between regional and international universities, as well as the development of university training programs by all modern methods. Joined Efforts The general supervisor of the branch of King Khalid University in Tihama, Dr. Ahmed Atef Al-Shehri, explained that entry of 15 Saudi universities  in the Times Classification 2022 reflects the generous support of the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is excels  under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques  His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and,  His Royal Highness Crown Prince,  Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may God protect them - and with the follow-up of the Ministry of Education and the concerted efforts of universities, especially in the field of research and scientific publishing, stressing that the efforts of these  advanced centers are  undoubtedly reflected in the quality of the education outcomes and our keenness to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. Adding that “ research is a source of great strength for prestigious universities around the world, and focusing on it a great investment, which contributes to developing societies and attracting creative ideas.” Clear vision The Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences in Mahayel Asir, Dr. Noura Banafa, said, “Our wise leadership pays special attention to education.His Majesty  King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, and  Royal Highness  Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, harnessed all efforts to establish a clear and ambitious vision for the Kingdom to be among the top 20 to 30 educational systems in the world.” Hard work The General Supervisor of the International Classifications Unit at the university and the Vice Dean of Quality and Development,  Dr. Sami Musabeh Al-Shehri, said  that “the Saudi universities’ continuation in their success and outstanding progress in international classifications is the result of good planning, quality of implementation, and hard work undertaken by the universities. The most recent of these honorable results was the entry of 15 universities in the Times World University Rankings, among 1662 universities selected from 99 countries around the world. Al-Shehri added, "This achievement is a step  within an integrated series of higher goals planned by the Ministry of Education, and according to a clear roadmap aimed at bringing Saudi universities to the highest international ranks, and achieving the  Kingdom's Vision 2030. Qualitative distinction ViceDean of the College of Sciences and Arts in Mahayel Asir for Educational and Academic Affairs, Dr. Saleh bin Ahmed Al-Suhaimi, confirmed that “when 15 Saudi universities achieve a national achievement in scientific progress worldwide according to the Times classification 2022, we are very  proud. stressing that  this progress indicates the importance of  distinguishing qualitative excellence in terms of scientific research, innovation and teaching methods. He added, "King Khalid University is one of the most important Saudi universities in terms of scientific and research excellence, and through God’s blessing and the support of our wise leadership that this all was achieved. Institutional work Assistant Professor of Literature and Criticism at the College of Science and Arts in Mahayel Asir, Dr. Ibrahim Omar Al-Mahaili, said that "the entry  of 15 Saudi universities in the Times Classification 2022, is a reflection of the support  devoted to education by our wise leadership, and the  Ministry of Education intention  to improve  the status of Saudi  universities. Al-Mahaili added, "This outstanding achievement  is the effort  of diligent academic work, and a  dedication to the filed of  education is a priority set by our wise leadership, may God protect it, and that education is a major component in  the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
