The Deanship of Admissions Completes More Than 200 Academic Schedules

  Source: King Khalid University - Media Center The Deanship of Admissions reports that the academic schedules for the fall semester are complete and final. All of the colleges and departments cooperated in developing more than two hundred discrete timetables university-wide. Dean of Admissions and Registration, Dr. Abdulmohsen Algarni, explained that the university tries to accommodate student schedule needs via the electronic (Academia) self-service portal. The Registrar received in excess of fifteen hundred schedule change requests this term. Dean Algarni confirmed that the Deanship has made several improvements to the registration process this year. All entering students received university identification already and schedules were distributed in advance. He wished the new and returning students a successful academic year, and thanked His Excellency Rector Al-Solamy for his guidance and support.

2,500 Students Benefit From Admission Change Service

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center The Deanship of Admissions and Registration announced on Thursday the completion of the admissions and acceptance period for the 1441 AH academic year. Dean of Admissions and Registration, Dr. Abdulmohsen Algarni, confirmed that King Khalid University, under the aegis of His Excellency Rector Al-Solamy, devoted all efforts to provide a streamlined electronic admission process from the admission application form to the issuance of university identification cards. Dean Al-Qarni highlighted that a set of conditions stipulated by the University Council were applied during the admission period, noting that accepted applicants were statistically exceptional. This was complemented by a firm intention to match student preferences to vacant seats using proprietary software. The newly implemented software is the first of its kind in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and provided 2,000 students the opportunity to change their majors based on availability and 500 waitlisted students acceptance confirmation.

18,000 Admissions Request

  Source: King Khalid University - Media Center King Khalid University, represented by the Deanship of Admissions and Registration, announced that the admission period for undergraduate and diploma programs for the 1440-41 AH academic year will continue to the 30th of Shawwāl. Dean of Admissions and Registration, Dr. Abdulmohsen Algarni, stressed the importance of following procedures, emphasizing that the university has received an estimated 18,000 admission requests. He also explained that the admission system allows applicants to change and edit admissions information and desired fields. Dean Algarni added that the university is keen to apply all applicable regulations and conditions to candidates during all stages of the process. Dean Algarni pointed out that the university has set the date for students to collect their university identification cards and schedules, which will start on the 5th of Dhū al-Qa‘dah for undergraduate program students and the 9th of Dhū al-Qa‘dah for diploma program students. Of noteworthy mention, the university will announce the open admissions period for the remaining seats in the near future Given that digital transformation is a central focus for the university, Dean Algarni confirmed that the admissions process is fully electronic and related that the acceptance rates will be announced on the university's homepage following each stage of admission. University Announces Admission Test Dates and Community Service Workshops Registration

  Source: King Khalid University - Media Center On the 16th of Shawwāl 1440 AH, admissions tests for the 1441 AH academic year will be held for new candidates as reported by the Deanship of Admissions and Registration. The tests are tailored to students from the business, computer science, and accounting departments at community colleges who wish to complete their undergraduate studies at King Khalid University. Male Examination Location Business Administration and Accounting: Building A (Room 43 on the Third Floor), Business School, Main Campus; Computer Science: Building A (Room 43 on the Third Floor), Business School, Main Campus, and the College of Arts and Science in Muhayil.   Female Examination Location Business Administration and Accounting: College of Home Economics at King Abdullah Road; Computer Science: College of Computer Science, Al-Samer Campus, the College of Arts and Science in Khamis Mushait, Muhayil, and Rijal Alma.   Of noteworthy mention, the Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education (female section) announced the open registration period for a number of workshops and programs for the summer season during the month of Shawwāl. The workshops include: Computers in Office Work; Special Needs Adaptive Behavior; Ethical and Systematic Practices in the Work Environment; Skills and Development Course; English Proficiency Course for Children (9-12 years); The Marketing Plan Cycle; Modern Secretarial and Management Skills.

University Announces Degree Program Application Dates for Community College Students

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center The Deanship of Admissions and Registration announced the application period for the community college undergraduate degree extension program. This program is for community college certificate graduates who wish to continue their studies in pursuit of a bachelor's degree. Community college diploma students seeking admission to an undergraduate degree program can apply between the 9th to 17th of the current month using the online university Academia system. Dean of Admissions, Dr. Abdulmohsen Algarni, noted the following admissions requirements: Applicants must be willing to join a degree program as a full- time student; Applicants will be required to complete at least sixty percent (60%) of the planned hours for their chosen bachelor’s degree program; Applicants to Information Systems and Computer Coding degree programs must have a GPA of 3.25 or higher from their certificate studies; Applicants to Accounting and Business Management programs must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher from their certificate studies, and pass a written exam prior to acceptance into a program.   Please note that admissions into degree programs are competitive. Acceptance is predicated upon applicant performance compared with average GPA and written exam scores of all applicants. University Announces Program Admission Dates for the 1441-42 Academic Year

  Source: King Khalid University - Media Center The Deanship of Admissions and Registration has announced application dates for the 1441-42 academic year. Applicants must apply for admission via Academia beginning on 15/10/1440 through 30/10/1440. Acceptances will be announced in two stages, the first on 5/11/1440 and the second on 9/11/1440. Dean of Admissions and Registration, Dr. Abdulmohsen Algarni, said that the admissions process will be entirely online. Prospective students and accepted applicants will not have to provide hard copies of documents and will not be required to report to the admissions office in person. The university will handle admissions questions through the website. Dean Algarni encourages all of those wishing to join the university to file their applications on or before 30/10/1440. Late applications will not be accepted. Dean Algarni also noted that the application and acceptance process will be very orderly and transparent. Admission requirements and deadlines will be strictly adhered to in accordance with university regulations. He also reiterated that fee-based diploma programs will begin registration on 13/11/1440.

Academic Transfer and Postgraduate Admissions Dates Announced

Internal university transfer requests for undergraduate degree program students will be open from the 5th until the 10th of Ramadan. External university transfer requests for undergraduate degree program students will be open from the 10th to the 14th of Ramadan. Bachelor's degree to certificate program transfer requests will be open from the 14th to the 24th of Dhū al-Qa‘dah. Note that admissions for graduate and post-graduate programs are open until the 6th of Ramadan. Symposium of GCC Admissions Professionals Present Research Findings

  Source: King Khalid University - Media Center King Khalid University hosted the 16th annual meeting of GCC higher education admissions professionals. The event attracted representatives from universities throughout the Kingdom. The purpose of the event was to exchange ideas and information about improving the admissions process in colleges and universities. The undersecretary of the GCC Admission Committee, Prof. Wasel Allah Abdullah Al-Sawat, began the first session by reviewing the committee's history, accomplishment, and goals. Then, Dr. Hussein Al-Harousi of Sultan Qaboos University presented a scientific paper on the academic evaluation systems at Sultan Qaboos University. In the second session, Dr. Zaid Basfar from Tabuk University presented a paper on strategic planning. Following his presentation, Dr. Sulaiman Al-Anqari from Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University presented a paper tracking a sampling of his university's alumni and their performance in the national job market. In the third session, Dr. Al-Adham Khalifa Al-Lawish from Hail University presented a paper titled 'Communications and High School Students'. The session also included a discussion led by Dr. Fahad Al-Ahmad from Qasim University where he discussed the supervision and implementation aspects of admissions departments in higher education. The event concluded with a discussion about artificial intelligence in higher education.

University Hosts 16th Annual Meeting of the GCC Admissions Directors

  Source: King Khalid University - Media Center Under the patronage of King Khalid University Rector, His Excellency Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, King Khalid University will be hosting the 16th annual meeting for the Admissions Directors of the GCC Universities and Educational Institutions on the 26th of Shaban at Abha Palace Hotel. The meeting was organized by the Deanship of Admission and Registration at King Khalid University and the Secretariat of the Deanship of Admissions and Registration Committee at Universities and Institutions of Higher Education in the GCC countries. The purpose of the meeting is to promote cooperation among GCC countries with respect to admissions and registration work among Gulf region universities. More than 50 GCC universities and their respective leaders are expected to participate in this event.

Internal Transfers Processed for 600 Students

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center The Deanship of Admissions and Registration at King Khalid University announced the approval of internal transfer applications for this semester. Dean of Admissions and Registration, Dr. Abdulmohsen Algarni, explained that all transfer applications were made online, noting that there were 1,000 inquiry applications. The process resulted in the transfer of 600 students in accord with available classes and transparent rules and regulations. Dean Algarni stressed that the Deanship of Admissions and Registration applied the average category system.
