The National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment

The King Khalid University (KKU) has recently obtained the Full Institutional Accreditation from the Education Evaluation Authority - the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment, in recognition of the KKU's academic standing and the culmination of a series of achievements recently achieved by the University in a number of fields.

The university had received the letter of accreditation officially from the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment, which included accrediting the KKU for seven years until 2024.

On this occasion, His Excellency the Rector of KKU, Dr. Faleh Bin Rajaa Allah Al-Solamy said that this achievement is only one of the achievements made by the University to achieve its strategic vision and ambitious plans towards achieving the vision of the Kingdom 2030.

Dr. Al-Solamy Congratulated the university's employees on this achievement, expressing his sincere thanks and appreciation to the University Vice-President, deans of the faculties, supporting deanships, faculty members, directors of university departments, employees, students, in addition to Aseer community and university graduates for their dedication to the University.

is Excellency, Rector Al-solamy further stated that this achievement would not have been achieved without the support of God and then the continued support of the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz, His Highness the Crown Prince and His Highness the Crown Deputy Prince, and the continuous and unwavering follow-up by His Highness the Governor of Aseer Region- May Allah keep them all safe.

It is worth mentioning that the university is one of the first universities in Saudi Arabia to have such a Full Academic Accreditation.

 

 
Under the patronage of His Excellency, the Rector of King Khalid University, Prof. Dr. Faleh Bin Rajaa Allah Al-Solamy, the General Directorate of Information Technology (IT) held the second meeting of the University's Website Coordinators on Wednesday evening at Abha Palace Hotel. Honorable dignities from the University attended the meeting including vice-presidents, deans, and staff. At the beginning of the meeting, there was a short introductory film about the new environment of the faculty websites and other electronic entities, which is characterized by a stylish yet simple look and feel. The presentation also included a procedural clarification of the steps to follow when requesting any service related to the main university website or the websites of other entities, in addition to a demonstration of numerous web tools, which would be useful while developing the site. The film also included an explanation of how to professionally edit images and designs, and more importantly, their importance in conveying a professional look and feel. Equally important, the University Rector launched the electronic version of Afaq, the university newspaper, which includes many high-tech features, such as making it accessible to the visually impaired through voice commands and a host of cutting-edge technologies. After that, Rector Al-Solamy launched the website of the General Directorate of Information Technology in its new format, which includes a portal for IT ambassadors and indicators of cognitive transformation. Al-Solamy praised the sustained efforts exerted by the General Directorate of Information Technology affiliates in the advancement of the University and the lightning pace of electronic development. He directed all university departments to exert the required efforts in the development of their websites. He emphasized that he will spare no effort in supporting them to develop and enhance their websites. Correspondingly, the Chief Information Officer (CIO), Dr. Salem Alayani thanked the Rector for his continuous support and follow-up on the technical transformation in the University. Dr. Alelyani also related that the Rector maintains that the key role of the colleges and their employees in enriching the content of their websites and raising the ranking of the University are of utmost importance. In like manner, the CIO didn’t forget to appreciate the remarkable efforts completed by the entities involved who made a great impact on the success of their websites in particular, and on the success of the University main website in general. Within the activities of the meeting, the e-learning department of the University presented a workshop on the KKUx platform. During the workshop, coordinators from different departments and faculties of the University were trained in cooperation with the IT department. They were trained on the new environment of their websites with different content types and the procedures for managing their websites. Following after, there was a brief explanation from the Help Desk department and how to communicate via 8000, in addition to another detailed explanation of the service of mySITE and e-Prints.  All of the attendees were urged to activate these services by training their respective colleagues on how to properly interact and utilize the aforementioned platforms. Furthermore, an informational session was presented where IT ambassadors learned how they could improve the global visibility of their website through search engines, followed by an open discussion to answer the attendees’ questions. HRH Prince Mansour Gave His Undivided Attention to the University His Excellency the Rector of King Khalid University, Prof. Dr. Faleh bin Rajaa Allah Al-Solamy, expressed on behalf of himself and all University staff, his sincerest condolences to His Royal Majesty, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, to His Royal Highness, Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman, to Prince Muqrin bin Abdul Aziz, and to the Governor of the Aseer Region, Prince Faisal bin Khalid on the tremendous loss of His Royal Highness Prince Mansour bin Muqrin and all of his companions. They had a helicopter crash yesterday evening while conducting their national duty. Rector Al-Solamy said, “ We can’t say nothing more than to ask Allah to bestow mercy and forgiveness on the dead.” He further highlighted the role that was played by HRH Prince Mansour who was the Deputy Governor of the Aseer Region. Prince Mansour gave his undivided attention to King Khalid University. Recently, he visited the University City and sponsored the Book Fair. Furthermore, HRH Prince Mansour was an instrumental voice of support for the University to all relevant stakeholders in the Kingdom.   Al-Solamy concluded his speech confirming that the country lost one of its promising leaders who was qualified and performed his duty eagerly. “We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return,” he concluded.    
The General Directorate of Information Technology (IT) of King Khalid University has recently provided, in partnership with the International Company “On the Hub,” a new service called myApps. It is a platform which provides specialized academic software. The new service is available for the employees of the University and can be accessed from the following link: http://myApps.kku.edu.sa In details, the “myApps” platform offers free academic office programs for students in order to facilitate the learning process, to reduce educational program costs, to improve learning outcomes, and to eliminate the use of hacking software. The platform addresses a wide variety of student needs such as operating systems, office programs, analysis, programming and design programs, including the essential office and academic programs such as SPSS, MATLAB, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, WinRAR, and the Windows 10 operating systems. The platform also provides general programs such as operating systems and office programs at a nominal price for staff and faculty members. This would contribute to creating a productive work environment and reducing the costs of programs and tools while raising quality. The myApps platform opens its doors to those researchers and academicians who are interested in scientific research fields by providing them free with statistical programs such as SPSS to facilitate accurate statistical analysis and results that contribute to enriching scientific fields in various aspects. The platform varies based on the academic group and the necessary programs. The platform includes general programs such as operating systems, Microsoft Office, and specialized applications for academic purposes such as design, programming, and analysis. It also provides access to the programs according to the student's curriculum plan, which is integrated with other academic systems in the university. In brief, the myApps platform is a distinguished service that provides a unique experience for students in obtaining the needs of their academic program with ease. It is expected, God willing, to add more academic programs to the platform to include all the specialized academic programs that students need over the course of their study.
