His Royal Highness, Governor of the Asir Region, Prince Faisal bin Khalid, will sponsor and inaugurate this Tuesday the opening of "Urban Tourism Forum" at the theater of the Asir Region Municipality in collaboration with the President of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, Prince Sultan bin Salman.  The opening ceremony will include a speech by His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman. Then, it will be followed by another speech to be delivered by the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Forum, the Secretary of Asir Region, Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Qadi, in addition to a presentation of the short film, " Hosn Palace in Asir." After that, the bodies that participated in the forum will be honored. As part of the forum activities, King Khalid University represented by the Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Center for Research in Environmental Studies and Tourism will participate with three research papers which will be discussed on 28 and 29/12/1438 AH. The first research paper will be handled in the first and fourth sessions of the second day of the forum, which will revolve around 'Tourism Investment,' entitled 'Obstacles of Hotel Tourism Activity in Abha City.' The faculty member who specializes in geography and the Professor in the College of Human Sciences Dr. Marsh Al Odaini and Prof. Najoud Al Qahtani will present the topics.  For the second research paper, the faculty member who specializes in environmental geography, and the Professor in the College of Human Sciences Dr. Adel Mu'atmad will open the fifth session. It is centered on the theme of 'Sustainable Tourism in Mountain Areas,' entitled 'Absorption Capacity for Ecotourism in the Asir Region: Practical Form.' Regarding the third research paper, the faculty member who specializes in human geography, and the Professor in the College of Human Sciences Dr. Fayez Asiri will discuss 'Sustainable Tourism Development of the Mountain Valleys,' in the sixth session under the title of 'Sustainable Development in the Mountainous Areas.'  In this context, the Head of the Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Center for Research in Environmental Studies and Tourism, Prof. Dr. Hussein Al Wadai, has clarified that the scientific committee of the forum has witnessed a lot of requests from researchers wishing to participate in the scientific forum. Hence, the number of submissions received has reached 117 research papers; noting that the committee reviewed all studies according to the objective conditions and criteria set by the committee. As a result, 20 papers were selected to participate in the forum through 6 scientific sessions, in addition to the closing session which will review the recommendations and final report.  As asserted by Al Wadai, "The high number of received research papers is a sign of the importance of the forum as well as the cultural renaissance of the region in the field of tourism, especially after being chosen as the Capital of Arab Tourism Capital for the current year." He also added, "There are researchers from various countries and cultures with distinct experiences in the field of Urban Tourism who will exchange ideas to benefit the Asir region."
If countries consider and measure their civilizational progress, urbanization, and what they have provided and achieved for their citizens, then the evidence and the figures attest that this country has shortened the time, reduced the distance, and was able in eighty-seven years to provide what many countries have not offered in a much longer time. No doubt, because the development plans in this blessed country have focused on bringing all the good things to mankind in its successive plans. It also works in accordance with the vision of the successive leaders of this country for these noble goals, especially after turning a scattered tribal society in the Arabian Peninsula to be one civil system.  This historical turn was led by the courage and spirit of the late monarch King Abdul Aziz 'may God rest his soul in peace.' His courageous historical stand formed a palette of unity, love and civilizational establishment in a distinct civil system based on a well-known harmony between the preservation of the spiritual-religious principles. Before this act, people of the Arabian Peninsula had experienced years of misery and poverty where there were chaos, divisions, backwardness, and wars.  Al Solamy: The Kingdom is clearly and courageously presenting the true message of Islam through its multiple positions and stances; not the corrupted, distorted image of gang-esque organizations that claim to belong to it.     For that, the comparative vision of the way of life in Saudi Arabia will find evidence of this harmony clearly in the Saudi society. On the same token, our country has all the elements of modern civilization with all of its various aspects while maintaining its cultural heritage, and Islamic moralities that always support the needs and interests of the human. And this is considered by some to be a difficult and sometimes an impossibly unachievable equation, but the remarkable practical achievement of it was seen and accomplished by this great nation.    The brief, meaningful words by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz when he was congratulating the citizens on the 86th national day has reminded me of many indications. His Royal Highness said on his Twitter page, "Every year, the homeland is safe and precious, and our journey of building and development continues to improve our country, its renaissance, and its stability. Every year, the people of this nation are loyal and proud of their homeland and their belongings." The first thoughtful words of the tweet indicate the value and importance of safety in peoples' lives unambiguously. The absence of this value will stop the process of development. In the second indication, HRH -may God protect him- is making a clear declaration towards the continuation of the process of civilized development, which in his auspicious reign, are managed with awareness and control. This has resulted in making the Saudi citizens proud of their country and praying for it.  In addition to this, the wise and courageous decisions taken by His Majesty have made a glorious and worthy impact in the blessed nation. A nation that extends the hand of peace to all those who wish for peace and development, and a firm hand to all those who seek to undermine the security and development of our precious country. Such policy came from a historical depth and a civilized understanding of the history of this country, which has embraced an Arabian Islamic civilization for one and a half millennia. The light of Islam started from the grounds of this country guiding humanity to the values of righteousness, morality, and peace. During that time, it has never allowed any external enemy nor internal enemy to ruin its security or achievements. In this regard, our precious country continues to offer a model example of Islamic centrism that shows the values of righteousness and goodness and tries to correct the distorted acts by the false claimers of this true religion.   The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is clearly and courageously presenting the true message of Islam through its multiple positions and stances; not the corrupted, distorted image of gang-esque organizations that claim to belong to it. These positions will be recorded in history with letters of light for this great nation.  At the end, on my behalf and all the university's employees, I would like to present sincere congratulations to His Royal Highness, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, to HRH the Crown Prince, and to all Saudi people, asking God the Almighty to protect this country and to help the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in keeping the security and development of this great nation.
The convoy of science and knowledge begins a new journey in our precious country amidst an atmosphere of safety and security. The golden opportunities provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in order to help students excel in various sciences in a world-class educational environment shows no signs of slowing down. The excellent vision of our nation continues to encourage citizens of this blessed country actively.  While the wise leadership acts with the hand of support and love in the grasp of wisdom and firmness outward through the positions of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, that is known to all, it always stands on the side of brothers and the vulnerable everywhere, with support, advocacy, and relief.  Since the happy is the one who learns from other's mistakes, we need to contemplate on the devastating changes that other countries are going through from the societal destruction of wars and the ravages of sedition and compare them with the grace and prosperity that we are enjoying. These blessings compel us to thank God and require us to fulfill the aspirations of our visionary leadership. The nation is a great blessing. As a result, we should be aware of the attempts of our enemies who are continuously trying to drag this blessed country towards the evil plots of their sick hearts.  . My message today to my sons and daughters is to remind them of the grace of safety and security that we enjoy in the shadow of this country. On the threshold of the new year, I whisper to my students that there are some of their peers in other nations who genuinely wish to complete their studies and achieve their dreams but the sound of bullets, the rowdiness of sedition and the loss of security kill all their ambitions. Your country has provided you with all things that would help you to achieve your hopes and dreams. So, exceed the expectations of your country, and do not listen to the foul calls and plots that seek to destroy the safe scientific atmosphere that you are enjoying. These wicked plans also want to devastate the vast economic opportunities that are destined for you. For that, I urge you to stand with your country, and look forward with joy and hope in the coming days, and be confident that the future of your country is your future. You need to remember as you are in the classroom obtaining knowledge, that there are those who are looking to you and waiting for your scientific achievements. So, be the great gifts that you give to your mothers, fathers, brothers and loved ones because your successes and accomplishments are the most beautiful gifts that you can give to them. It is also the reward that my colleagues, faculty members, staff members and I expect from you. We are working for you, as part of a sustained effort to ensure your success continues, and that your bright futures never dim.  At the beginning and at the end, my appreciation and respect go to all of my colleagues working in the university. They instill pride and satisfaction when I see or hear about their the efforts and achievements, whether they know or do not know about it. On this occasion, I would like to remind them of that they are on a noble mission, and what they are doing today will result in blessings in their lives, deeds, and future generations. On the journey of knowledge, we are on the road towards Jannah by God's Will as Prophet Mohammed Peace Be Upon Him said, "Allah makes the way to Jannah easy for him who treads the path in search of knowledge." In this prophetic vision, we see words come to life because knowledge has helped the oppressed and healed patients in record time for the sake of all humanity. For that, I congratulate you (the seekers) of knowledge 'May God help you in your journeys.' Finally, I pray to God to protect our country from all evils and ask Him to help the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Crown Prince to preserve the blessings of security and prosperity for this blessed country.

Also, the congratulations extend to the Arab and the Islamic nations, asking God - the Almighty - to accept the pilgrims’ pilgrimage, to perpetuate over us the blessings of safety and security, and to enable us to see more occasions of Eid Al Adha for many more years
